Dutch Fork Wetlands
The Dutch Fork Wetlands’ diverse ecosystem is home to six ponds, a meadow, observation deck and shelter house, as well as a variety of plants, birds, insects and mammals.
This area is a restored 70 acre wetland/grassland ecosystem. Historically, this was part of a larger wetland system in central Ohio. Over time, the original wetlands vanished as land uses changed and habitats were altered because of modern agricultural practices.
Considered a successful mitigation site, this ecological restoration project was brought to us by the Ohio Department of Transportation.
