For more than 80 years, The Dawes Arboretum has been providing the public with free admission to our gardens and natural areas. Annually, nearly 250,000 visitors explore our grounds. Located in Licking County, near Newark, the 1,800-acre arboretum is dedicated to increasing the love and knowledge of trees, history and the natural world. More than 12 miles of trails guide visitors across meadows, wetlands, and woodlands, around a Japanese Garden, and through nationally recognized plant collections.
The Arboretum has an extensive education program serving school children from Licking and surrounding counties; people with physical, behavioral, and developmental disabilities; and community groups and families from across Ohio and beyond. Last year, more than 18,000 people participated in our educational and outreach programs.
Gifts from our generous donors allow us to continue to offer all of these services to the public. Please consider making a donation in addition to your membership to support our most urgent funding priorities.
