Autumn, one of the perfect times to get outside and enjoy the warm color palette that nature presents.  Here at The Dawes Arboretum, treetops are now starting to glisten bright shades of yellow, red and orange as far as the eye can see. Come out today to soak up all of the fall foliage and experience The Arboretum in all of its glory. While you are here, be sure to be on the lookout for famous seasonal mums and the thousands of varieties we have that are blooming.

Whether you enjoy a self guided tour around the grounds or want to sign up for our Fall Color Hike, you’ll be sure to fall in love with the scenery.

Our Fall Color Hike is on October 21 from 10am to 11am and registration is open now. Experience our picturesque views on a guided hike through the Arboretum East Side Woodlands for only $10!

During this magical season we also are offering fall wagon tours. These guided tours will take visitors through the north and south loops of the auto tour showcasing The Arboretum. Tickets for the fall wagon tours are $5 per person and free for children ages 5 and under. Tickets can be purchased in the Visitors Center prior to the start of the tour.

Fall Wagon Tours

(Please note, these tours are subject to change and are weather dependent. Capacity is limited.)

Fall rain has also brought the sprouting of many mushrooms. Therefore, Mushroom Walk Wednesdays are here!

Each Wednesday from 5pm to 6pm during the entire month of October, join an Arboretum educator on a guided walk through our wooded terrain to explore these uniquely blossomed fungi!

Mushroom Walk Wednesdays

If you are also planning a trip out before the end of October and would like to learn more about the history of our founders, Beman and Bertie Dawes, be sure to schedule a Daweswood House Museum tour.
These tours occur every Wednesday through Sunday from 12 to 3pm until October 29. The exhibit will feature four different rooms from homes owned by the Dawes family. Take a walk through time and enter rooms from their Florida winter residence, their Canadian fishing lodge, Marietta farmhouse and Columbus mansion. This exhibit is included with your Arboretum admission.
