The Big Give, one of our biggest donation events of the year, is almost here! The Big Give is a 26-hour online giving event through The Columbus Foundation to support local nonprofits, including The Dawes Arboretum. The event begins Tuesday, October 10 at 10am and runs through Wednesday, October 11 at 12pm. All donations made to The Dawes Arboretum through The Columbus Foundation’s website will be amplified by bonus pool funds on a pro rata basis. The bonus pool is over $1.3 million and everyone who gives will have their donation increased. This kind of giving is very important to us at The Arboretum because with limited funds, every penny counts.

A $20 donation goes a long way at The Arboretum, including but not limited to the following:

  • We could host up to 50 preschoolers in a session of StoryBook Science to enrich lives and expand knowledge on trees and nature.
  • We could supply 16 tree seedlings to support research, habitat restoration and clean air in our community.
  • We could stock the Bird Watching Garden for 4 days which supplies nourishment for local birds and allows hours of enjoyment for our visitors.

Not only are you giving us a generous gift, you are getting something in return! With your donation, you will receive coupons from some of the most delicious restaurants including Donatos, White Castle, Hot Chicken Takeover and Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams! In addition to your treat, you will receive the satisfaction of giving back to your community and helping The Arboretum.


Help us make a difference and further our mission by donating to The Dawes Arboretum during The Big Give. The minimum donation is $20 and all major credit cards can be used. Upon making a donation, all donors will receive an email receipt. Donations cannot be rescinded.
