While The Dawes Arboretum is a breathtaking place any season, we do particularly shine during the Autumn months. If you are in the Columbus, Ohio area and are looking for the perfect picture for your personal Instagram photo, or are just looking for a beautiful view, here are our top three recommendations:
Location #1: Parkwoods Trail
The Parkwoods Trail can be accessed behind the Visitors Center, at the Zand Education Center or at the Daweswood House Museum.
This walking trail has beautiful fall color and views, with many spots to stop and take photos such as the Learning Garden, the exterior of the Daweswood House Museum and near any of the wind sculptures. There are also spots along the trail to stop and pose with the scarecrows, on display through October 31!
Location #2: Cypress Swamp
The Cypress Swamp can be accessed from our Main Parking Lot.
The boardwalk through the trees is not to be missed! It’s one of the northern-most Cypress Swamps and the unique trees make for gorgeous photos.
Location #3: Japanese Garden
To visit this location, drive straight at the roundabout and park at the Japanese Garden parking lot.
An Arboretum visitor favorite, The Japanese Garden has beautiful landscaping and benches surrounding a large pond. Beautiful photos can be taken while walking the stone path across the pond and stopping by the bridge in the Japanese Garden.
We are so excited to have you visit our grounds this fall and to share in the beauty of the season! If you share any pictures on social media, please be sure to use the hashtag #Fall2020AtDawes.
